Manchester United achieved their third win in a row by beating Leicester City 1-0 on Thursday evening, in the fifth round of the English Premier League, and now they are preparing to face Arsenal, who won five games with the full mark.
“Arsenal is a strong opponent,” said Ten Hag, quoted by The Sun. “The season has started really well, and you can see that the players have spent a lot of time together, and they have a coach who brings his philosophy, so it’s a good test for us.”
Ten Hag suffered with United from a turbulent start to the season, with two consecutive defeats, one of them against Brentford, with a clean four.
But the confidence of the players improved, after beating Liverpool 2-1 and Southampton 1-0.
The Dutch coach added: “I’ve seen some good things. It’s more than just details. We’re building and that’s a good thing to see. It’s the result of working on the training ground, working on the video, and in the matches.”
“It’s about formation, creating lines, and making the right decisions, we are taking good steps, we have a base but there is still a lot of room for improvement.”
After Manchester United conceded six goals in their first two matches, they conceded only one goal in the subsequent three matches and kept two clean sheets in a row.
Tin Hag concluded: “I see that the whole team defends collectively, and this makes it easier for the defenders, and the cooperation is very good, it is difficult for the opponents to create opportunities, and I think that is what we see on the pitch.”
