Tuchel: Kepa did what I wanted

Date:

German coach Thomas Tuchel commented on the failure of the departure of the Spaniard Kepa Arrizabalaga, the Blues goalkeeper, during the last summer Mercato.

“Kepa has studied his options in the summer, which we were aware of,” Tuchel said, in statements highlighted by Fabrizio Romano, an expert on transfers of players and coaches in Europe, on his account on the social networking site “Twitter”.

The German coach added: “Kepa’s options to leave were not satisfactory to him or us, so he stayed with the team… I am very happy with this matter, and I have always been very clear with Kepa that I want him to stay.”

It is noteworthy that Kepa was strongly associated with a move to Napoli during the last summer Mercato.

Kepa has turned into Chelsea’s second goalkeeper since signing Senegalese Edward Mendy in the summer of 2020, from Rennes.
