Barcelona secured a 5-1 win over Real Mallorca on Tuesday evening, in the 16th round of La Liga, at Mallorca’s home ground, Son Moix.

Barcelona’s five goals were courtesy of Rafinha (who scored twice), Ferran Torres, Frenkie de Jong, and Pau Victor, with their efforts coming in the 12th, 56th, 74th, 78th, and 84th minutes. Vedat Muriqi scored Mallorca’s sole goal in the 43rd minute.

With this victory, Barcelona increased their tally to 37 points, staying atop La Liga, while Mallorca remained at 24 points in sixth place.

The match kicked off with early pressure from the visitors, and Ferran Torres capitalized on a defensive blunder by Mallorca to score the first goal in the 12th minute, easily tapping the ball into the net. Mallorca’s goalkeeper, Leo Roman, made a crucial save in the 18th minute, denying Torres a second goal after a cross from Balde. Barcelona’s dominance continued with a shot from Lamine Yamal in the 20th minute, which sailed over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Dani Olmo’s shot from outside the box went high over Mallorca’s goal.

Just before halftime, Vedat Muriqi equalized for Mallorca in the 42nd minute, finishing off a fast counterattack with a one-touch strike after a pass from Maffeo.

The first half ended in a 1-1 draw.

Early in the second half, the referee awarded Barcelona a penalty after Mallorca’s Mujica fouled Lamine Yamal in the box. Rafinha converted the penalty in the 56th minute, placing the ball in the left corner to give Barcelona the lead. Mallorca’s Dani Rodriguez attempted to equalize with a shot from the edge of the penalty area, but it went over Barcelona’s goal.

Rafinha scored again in the 74th minute, receiving a cross from Yamal and finishing with a precise shot into the bottom right corner.

Barcelona’s fourth goal came quickly after, with Frenkie de Jong scoring in the 79th minute. A cleared cross from Pau Victor found De Jong, who slotted it home.

Pau Victor rounded off the victory with a fifth goal in the 84th minute, tapping in a cross from De Jong in front of an open goal to seal the three points for Barcelona.
