Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, revealed that he has no intention of coaching any other team after his tenure with the Citizens concludes.
“I won’t coach another team,” Guardiola confirmed, speaking to Sport, a Spanish newspaper. “I’m not thinking about the distant future, but I won’t depart from Manchester City to take on a similar position in another country. I just don’t have the energy for that kind of challenge. The idea of starting over in a new place, building everything from the ground up… no, no, no! Maybe I’d consider coaching a national team, but that’s a different scenario.”
When asked about continuing in club football management, Pep couldn’t resist a joke: “I want to retire and play golf, but I can’t. There will come a time when I’ll feel it’s enough, and then I’ll retire for good.”
It’s worth mentioning that Guardiola signed a contract extension with Manchester City this season, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2027.
