Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has intensified its ongoing conflict with Kylian Mbappé, the former star of the club who now plays for Real Madrid.
Despite Mbappé’s move to the Spanish giant, the tension between him and PSG continues to simmer, with the Parisian club seemingly unwilling to let go of past grievances. The relationship between PSG and Mbappé deteriorated after the forward’s decision to leave the club on a free transfer when his contract expired.
Although the two sides parted ways, PSG has reportedly maintained a tense stance, with some officials still unhappy about the manner of his departure and his refusal to extend his contract before the move to Madrid.
As the situation unfolds, it is clear that PSG’s frustration with Mbappé’s exit remains a point of contention. The French publication “L’Equipe” has indicated that the management of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has formally approached the executive committee of the French Football Federation in an effort to address the ongoing legal conflict with Kylian Mbappe.
Furthermore, it has been noted that the Parisian leadership is aware that this initiative is unlikely to yield a favorable outcome; nevertheless, they persist in intensifying their efforts, anticipating that the matter will ultimately be settled in the labor court.
She indicated that Mbappe has been requesting salaries and bonuses totaling 55 million euros from PSG for the past three months. She elaborated that the dispute originated in mid-September when Mbappe declined legal mediation to address the crisis, which had been suggested by the legal committee of the French Professional Clubs League.
Subsequently, the league mandated that the Parisian club pay the specified amount within a week. However, the management of Paris Saint-Germain contested this decision and appealed to the same authority within the French Clubs League, which reaffirmed its initial ruling in favor of the French star in October. The contention between the two parties centers on an agreement made in August 2023 between Mbappe and Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of the Parisian club, wherein the player committed to not departing without providing financial compensation to the club.
