Senegalese international defender Abdou Diallo announced his move to Leipzig, Germany, from Paris Saint-Germain, today, Thursday.

Diallo, who won the African Nations Cup this year in Cameroon with his country, moved to the German League (Bundesliga) on loan for next season, with an option that gives Leipzig the right to buy it permanently for 20 million euros.

And Diallo sent a message to Saint Germain via social media, where he said, “I wish you the best for this season. Dream, earn, and celebrate because you deserve it.”

On the other hand, Diallo said in a separate post, “Welcome to Leipzig.”

Diallo, previously played for Borussia Dortmund, before joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2019, and is expected to play in the center of the defense alongside Josco Gvardiol, who recently extended his contract with Leipzig.

Diallo joined the list of those leaving Saint-Germain this summer, which included Alphonse Areola, Georginio Wijnaldum, Ander Herrera, and Leandro Paredes.

Diallo became the fifth player to join Leipzig in the summer transfer window, after David Raum, Timo Werner, Xavier Schlager and Yannis Blaswich.
