The breakthrough came in the 35th minute when Brazilian winger Wenderson Galeano unleashed a stunning long-range strike, assisted by Roberto Firmino, to give Al-Ahli the lead.
Just seven minutes later, Ivorian midfielder Franck Kessie doubled the advantage. Kessie rose highest to head in a pinpoint cross from Firmino, showcasing Al-Ahli’s clinical finishing. The two-goal cushion heading into halftime put Al-Ahli in firm control.
