On Monday, the Spanish Football Federation held the draw for the Round of 32 in the Spanish King’s Cup.
The draw featured the Spanish Super Cup teams (Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Mallorca), who were granted exemptions from the qualifying rounds.
As a result, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao, and Real Mallorca will begin their King’s Cup journey with matches against the competition’s lowest-ranked sides
Real Madrid will face Deportiva Minera, a second-division team from Cartagena.
Meanwhile, Barbastro has been drawn against Barcelona, a team they faced last season in a match that ended in a 3-2 victory for the Blaugrana.
Athletic Bilbao will kick off their campaign at Las Gaunas against Yedda Logrones, who made history by eliminating Eibar and Girona, thanks to the stellar performance of substitute goalkeeper Arnau.
Mallorca will open their tournament against Pontevedra, who impressed by knocking out Levante in the first round and Villarreal in the second.
Atletico Madrid, who are enjoying a strong La Liga season, will meet Marbella, one of the less prominent clubs in the draw.
The Round of 32 matches are set for January 4 and 5, but there’s uncertainty regarding the postponed Valencia-Real Madrid game, now scheduled for January 2, a date that is considered inconvenient for a match.
The Players’ Association has proposed rescheduling the Real-Valencia match for January 3, which could lead to the postponement of the cup games for both teams to January 6 and 7.
