Ancelotti: We are not the invincible team… and difficult moments are coming

Date:

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti appeared diplomatic and cautious before facing Seville, tomorrow, Saturday, in the Spanish League.

Ancelotti said in a press conference today, Friday: “The team is in good shape, but every match has its own circumstances. Seville is trying to overcome a difficult stage. It is a technically committed team, so there is no easy match.”

He added: “I do not feel that we are the invincible team, there is no invincible team in the history of football, and any team can defeat us, and in turn, we strive to continue the good performance and victories.”

He continued: “I am not worried about the calm situation we are living in, because the difficult moments are coming, I do not know when, but they will undoubtedly come, and we have to be prepared for them like last season.”

Real Madrid has only stumbled with two draws since the beginning of the current season, and won the rest of the matches at the level of the League, the Champions League, and the European Super Cup.

“I don’t know anything about the postponement of the League.

He pointed out: “The World Cup will not be Real Madrid’s worst enemy this season, but rather it will be an enemy of all clubs, and its impact on the team will be evaluated after the end of the tournament, and I think that all players are in the best preparedness.”

And the veteran Italian coach added, “I don’t know anything about the possibility of postponing La Liga, I have other things to think about, and I will respond to this issue when I have enough information.”

And on the possibility of renewing Toni Kroos’ contract, he said: “I think he will continue with us, his condition is better than last season when he had problems at the beginning. I spoke to him about it, and he deals with the situation very calmly.”

He added, “What the team lacks is to improve some aspects at the level of collective performance. As for the individual capabilities of the players, I thank the parents of these players for providing us with such talents.”

Courtois’ return… and Ceballos’ position

Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will return to the starting line-up against Sevilla, after an absence of more than a month with an injury.

He added, “The rest of the team is in good condition, except for (Dani) Ceballos, who will be out of the list,” without referring to Mariano Diaz, who is still recovering from an injury.

“If I make some changes, it will be to avoid future problems. But I won’t make many changes tomorrow,” the Real Madrid coach added.

Courtois last played before the injury with the Belgium national team on September 25 and he has not played with Real Madrid since September 18.
