Today, October 23, the match of the 13th round of the English Premier League took place, in which the London Arsenal played on the road with Southampton.
The meeting took place at the St. Mary’s stadium. The starting whistle of the chief referee of the match, Robert Jones, sounded at 13:00 GMT.
The Gunners scored in the 11th minute thanks to a goal from central midfielder Granit Xhaka, assisted by defender Ben White. The entire first half of the meeting was dictated by the guests, but they could not score more goals. In the second half, the Saints came out more charged, thanks to which they managed to level the score – in the 65th minute, Stuart Armstrong scored a goal after an accurate pass from Mohamed Elyounoussi.
After this meeting, Arsenal scored 28 points and remained at the top of the Premier League standings. Southampton has moved up to 15th with 12 points.
