Arsenal escapes the Aston Villa trap and moves away to the top of the Premier League

Arsenal beat Aston Villa 2-1 in the match between the two teams on Wednesday evening at the Emirates Stadium in the fifth round of the English Premier League.

The hosts took the lead early through Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus in the 30th minute.

 But the guests managed to equalize after a number of attempts, by Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz in the 74th minute.

With the hosts feeling embarrassed and fearful of losing the lead, the Gunners stressed their siege, and they managed to score the second goal after only 33 minutes through striker Gabriel Martinelli, specifically in the 77th minute, to restore the lead to Arsenal and guarantee the victory.

With this result, Arsenal increased its position in the lead by 15 points, while Aston Villa’s balance froze at 3 points in the 19th order.

In the same round, a goalless draw overshadowed the match that gathered on Wednesday evening between Bournemouth and its guest Wolverhampton at the Vitality Stadium.

After this tie, the two teams shared the points of the match, bringing the balance of Bournemouth to 4 points in 15th place and Wolverhampton to 3 points in the 17th order.
