The fight between Russian Askar Askarov and Brandon Royal will be canceled.
The American fighter announced this on his social networks. “I woke up weighing 127 pounds, but before I started the final cut, I found out that my opponent was not going to make weight. They pulled out of a catchweight fight, so it looks like the fight is off. I am heartbroken, but I remain a professional, ”Royvalom wrote.
The fight between Royal and Askarov was supposed to take place as part of UFC Vegas 62, which was supposed to take place on October 15 in Las Vegas. Askarov had already withdrawn from the fight in June for an unnamed reason.
In June, the Russian fighter was supposed to fight with Alex Perez, but eventually refused to participate in the tournament. It is worth noting that representatives of the UFC have not yet given official comments on this matter.
