Atalanta earned a crucial point in a 1-1 draw with Lazio in the 18th round of the Italian Serie A on Saturday.
Lazio took the lead in the first half, with Nigerian Fisayo Bashiru scoring the opening goal in the 27th minute at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
In the second half, Atalanta levelled the score in the 88th minute thanks to Marco Brescianini’s late strike, securing a valuable point for the visitors.
The draw ended Atalanta’s impressive 11-match winning streak in Serie A, but it kept their unbeaten record intact for the season.
With the draw, Atalanta moved to the top of the table with 41 points, just ahead of Inter Milan, who have 40 points after their 3-0 victory over Cagliari earlier in the day.
Napoli, with 38 points, sits in third place and will play Venezia on Sunday in the same round.
Lazio remains in fourth place with 35 points, having drawn five times this season.
