Australia’s national football team wins World Cup match for the first time in 12 years

Date:

The victory over the Tunisian team was the first for the Australian national football team in 12 years at the world championships.

Earlier on Saturday, the Australians beat Tunisia 1-0 in the group stage match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Australian national team won the previous victory at the world championship in June 2010 as part of the group stage of the World Cup in South Africa. Then the Serbs were defeated – 2:1.

Since then, the Australians have been on a seven-game losing streak. During this time, the Australian team played a draw only once – with the Danish team (1: 1) at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
