Barcelona beat Cadiz to boost their lead in La Liga

This evening, Sunday, Barcelona defeated Cadiz 2-0 in the 22nd round of La Liga matchup at the “Spotify Camp Nou” stadium, extending its winning streak.

In the 43rd minute, Sergi Roberto and Robert Lewandowski (45 + 1) scored for Barcelona.

With this victory, Barcelona moved to the top of the La Liga table with 59 points, 8 points behind Real Madrid, which finished second, while Cadiz’s score stayed the same at 22 points, in 17th place. Barcelona started the game under pressure, and in the fourth minute, from a left-side corner kick, Eric Garcia received the ball inside the area and rose to head it past Cadiz’s right post with a header.

In the 19th minute, Cadiz’s Roger Marty scored the opening goal, which was disallowed by the official due to offside.

In the 23rd minute, Cadiz player Ruben Alcaraz had a powerful shot blocked by Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen from outside the penalty area.

Ferran Torres launched on the right side with a single effort and avoided the Cadiz defense before passing a cross to Lewandowski, who hit a header that Isaac, the Andalusian team’s defender, bounced back in front of Roberto, who settled the ball into the net. In the 43rd minute, Sergi Roberto scored Barcelona’s first goal.

After receiving a magic pass from Sergi Roberto inside the penalty area, Lewandowski added Barcelona’s second goal in the 46th minute with a ground missile shot to the right of goalkeeper Ledesma.

Ferran Torres scored the opening goal of the second half with a powerful shot from inside the penalty box that cleared Cadiz’s highest goal in the 50th minute.

In the 57th minute, Lewandowski received a ball deep from Javi and hit it that fell to hit the crossbar. He almost scored Barcelona’s third goal.

In the 58th minute, Rogier scored for Cadiz, but the goal was disallowed by the referee because Vali made a mistake on Ter Stegen.

In the 78th minute, Subetino, a Cadiz player, aimed a header inside the penalty area that Ter Stegen twice blocked.

Chris Ramos, a Cadiz player, ran away from Barcelona’s defense, dodged it, and in the 80th minute, he hit a ball with his outside foot that Ter Stegen blocked before hitting the right post.

Lozano almost scored the goal in the 86th minute when he received a cross and headed it past Ter Stegen’s right post with a header.

The Catalan club won the seventh consecutive match in the Example and continues to lead the championship. Cadiz is in 17th place.
