Barcelona has named a new player to join him in the left-back position, in anticipation of the failure of the Marcos Alonso deal, the Chelsea star.
Barca aims to include Alonso, 31, in the current summer Mercato, but he did not reach an agreement with the Blues on the details of the deal, only 9 days before the end of the transfer market.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Alonso has the priority of coach Xavi Hernandez, but he suggested the name of the Spaniard Javi Galan from Celta Vigo if he failed to include the Chelsea player.
The newspaper pointed out that if Barcelona wanted to include the player, he must activate the penalty clause, which amounts to 18 million euros.
Barcelona does not want to pay more than 9 million euros for Galan’s services, whose contract with Celta Vigo runs until 2026.
