Barcelona has issued a response to the joint statement from the Spanish Football Federation and La Liga regarding the refusal to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor.
The statement from the Spanish Football Federation and La Liga announced the cancellation of the registration of both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor as members of Barcelona’s first-team squad.
Although Barcelona generated significant revenue by selling a package of VIP seats at the Camp Nou stadium, this move was deemed too late according to the regulations.
In an official statement sent to the Spanish media, Barcelona expressed its dissatisfaction with the decision, stating: “The club is unhappy with the decision and confirms that it will file the appropriate appeal with the Higher Sports Council.”
Barcelona confirmed that a meeting took place on Saturday between President Joan Laporta, Dani Olmo, and Pau Victor to reassure them about the ongoing situation.
The meeting caused Laporta to miss the protocol events at the Barbastro town hall, as well as the official lunch ahead of Barcelona’s Spanish King’s Cup match later that evening.
Additionally, Barcelona announced that the club will refrain from making any further comments on the issue “until the matter is resolved by the Higher Sports Council.”
