Chelsea continued to press for an equalizer but struggled to find the back of the net. In the 30th minute, Cole Palmer had a golden opportunity to restore Chelsea’s lead, but his shot after a pass from Christopher Nkunku went wide of the target.

Chelsea introduced fresh faces in a bid to turn the game around, with Enzo Fernandez coming on to add some creativity to their attack. Despite these changes, Brighton’s defense stood firm. A penalty appeal in the 77th minute for a challenge on Joao Pedro was waved off, much to Chelsea’s frustration.

Chelsea’s last attempt came in stoppage time when Nuno Madueke broke through the defense but was denied by a crucial block from Brighton’s Jan Paul van Hecke.
