Caroline Garcia into the US quarter-finals for the first time

French Caroline Garcia qualified for the US Open quarter-finals, on Sunday, after easily beating American Alison Risky.

Garcia, ranked 17th in the tournament, settled the meeting in two sets without a response, (6-4) and (6-1) within an hour and 22 minutes, to reach the quarter-finals without losing any set.

And Garcia paid 8 aces, put her first serve by 61%, and won the points on him by 74%, compared to 48% of the points on the second service.

The French climbed the net 10 times, during which she won 7 points, while she broke her opponent’s serve 3 times, out of 4 chances she obtained, and she also shot 30 knockout balls.

Garcia qualified for the US Open quarter-finals, for the first time in her professional career.

This is her second access to the quarter-finals, in the Grand Slam tournaments, after Roland Garros 2017.

Garcia awaits in the quarter-finals, the winner of the match between American Coco Gauff, the 12th seed in the tournament, and China’s Zhang Chuai.
