Fulham secured a thrilling 2-1 win over Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Thursday, during the 18th round of Premier League matches.
Chelsea took the lead with a goal from Cole Palmer in the 16th minute, but Fulham equalized in the 82nd minute through Harry Wilson. Rodrigo Muniz sealed the victory for the visitors with a last-minute goal in the 90+6 minute.
Chelsea remains in second place with 35 points, while Fulham climbs to eighth with 28 points.
Fulham created the first danger of the match in the 15th minute with a powerful shot from Jimenez outside the box, but goalkeeper Sanchez was able to make the save.
Chelsea took the lead just a minute later, in the 16th minute, when Palmer made a brilliant run and fired a low shot from the edge of the area, sending the ball into the back of the net.
Chelsea sought a second goal in the 20th minute following a neat exchange of passes between Palmer and Jackson inside the box. However, Palmer’s shot lacked power and was easily gathered by goalkeeper Leno.
Fulham nearly equalized moments later when Jimenez launched a quick attack down the area’s right side, firing a powerful low shot that narrowly missed the post.
Palmer continued to test Fulham’s defence, sending a curling shot from the edge of the area in the 22nd minute, but Leno was once again on hand to make the save.
In a surprising counter-attack in the 26th minute, Fulham’s defender Bassey picked up the ball in midfield, weaved past several Chelsea players, and unleashed a powerful low shot from inside the box. Sanchez, however, showed great reflexes to block the attempt.
Chelsea squandered a clear opportunity to extend their lead in the 35th minute when Enzo delivered a perfect free-kick cross to an unmarked Cucurella inside the box. The defender headed the ball, but Leno made a brilliant save, keeping the score 1-0 in favour of Chelsea at halftime.
The Blues started the second half with intent, as Enzo fired a powerful shot from outside the area in the 49th minute. Leno, however, made an excellent save, tipping the ball out for a corner.
Fulham came close to levelling the score in the 53rd minute with a superb curling shot from Iwobi on the edge of the box, but the ball narrowly missed the post.
Fulham continued to waste clear chances, as Traore provided an excellent cross to Robinson on the left side of the area. Robinson found himself one-on-one with goalkeeper Sanchez in the 63rd minute but couldn’t convert, as Sanchez made another vital save to preserve Chelsea’s lead.
Substitute Wilson attempted to equalize for Fulham in the 77th minute with a shot from outside the box, but his effort went wide of the target.
Fulham found the equalizer in the 82nd minute when Robinson delivered a cross from the left side of the area. Castagne met the ball with a header, setting it up perfectly for Wilson, who made no mistake and fired it into the net to make it 1-1.
Chelsea nearly regained the lead in the 90th minute when Sancho latched onto a ball cleared by the Fulham defence inside the box. He unleashed a powerful shot, but Leno produced a brilliant save to keep the score level.
In the sixth minute of stoppage time, Fulham completed a dramatic turnaround. Muniz was on the receiving end of a low cross inside the box, unmarked, and he calmly slotted the ball into the net, securing a 2-1 win for the visitors.
