Chelsea has announced that young striker Armando Broja has linked his future with the club by signing a new long-term contract until 2028.
The young striker, who turns 21 later this month, said: “I’ve lost the words I’ve been thinking about. It’s the club I’ve dreamed of playing for all my life, the club I support, and the club I love.”
“I’ve been here since I was a boy so it’s a surreal feeling for me and my family,” he added.
“To be able to wear the blue jersey with the first team is a dream come true. It’s amazing to play every minute on the pitch because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Broja continued.
And he added, “There is always competition and everyone wants to play, so I am happy to have the opportunity to be a part of it. I hope to play a lot of matches and be part of the team’s success.”
Boja has already played 3 matches as a substitute with coach Thomas Tuchel’s team this season after he left an influential mark in the English Premier League with Southampton, for which he played on loan last season, where he scored 9 goals.
Chelsea’s new chairman, Todd Boyle, said: “We are delighted with Armando’s commitment to Chelsea. He is an exciting young striker and a big part of our plans going forward.”
Previously, Boruja played on loan with Vitesse Arnhem, where his 11 goals helped the Dutch team reach fourth place in the domestic league as well as reach the cup final.
At the international level, Broja represents the Albanian national team and has scored 4 times in 15 international matches, which he has played so far.
