Chelsea extended its dominance in the European Conference League with a 2-0 win over German side Heidenheim on Thursday in the fourth round of the tournament.
Chelsea secured a top spot with 12 points, while Heidenheim remained on 9 points in sixth place. The Blues took the lead in the 61st minute through Christopher Nkunku, and Mykhailo Mudryk sealed the win with a second goal in the 86th minute.
Chelsea played the match with ten men after Cesare Casadei received a red card in the 90+6th minute.
In other action, Cercle Brugge triumphed 2-0 over Scottish side Hearts. Malamine Efekeli scored the first goal in the 40th minute, and Gary Magni sealed the win with a late strike in injury time.
Cercle Brugge now has 7 points in seventh place, while Hearts remain at 6 points in 18th.
In additional fixtures, Slovenian club Cesele drew 3-3 with Poland’s Jagiellonia, and APOEL from Cyprus defeated Molde 1-0.
Djurgården of Sweden edged out Wales’ New Saints 1-0, and Panathinaikos from Greece won 1-0 against Finland’s Helsinki.
Swiss club St. Gallen drew 2-2 with Serbia’s Backa Topola, while Bosnia’s Banja Luka triumphed 2-1 over Austria’s LASK Linz. Copenhagen from Denmark won 2-1 against Dinamo Minsk from Belarus, and Armenia’s Noah drew 0-0 with Vikingur from Iceland.
