Paris Saint-Germain claimed the first title of 2025 by defeating Monaco 1-0 in the French Super Cup on Sunday evening.
Ousmane Dembele scored the only goal of the match in the 92nd minute at the 974 Stadium in Doha, Qatar, securing the win for Paris Saint-Germain and their third consecutive French Super Cup title.
With this victory, the Parisian giants extended their record to 13 titles, further solidifying their position as the most decorated club in the competition. Meanwhile, Monaco remained with just four titles and suffered their third consecutive Super Cup final loss to PSG, following defeats in 2017 and 2018.
PSG squandered several opportunities in the first half, with Desiree Doué hitting the crossbar just 9 minutes into the match. Monaco’s goalkeeper, Philippe Kuhn, was exceptional, making three crucial saves against Ousmane Dembele and Lee Kang-in. Vitinha’s shot also struck the post, while Lee Kang-in’s attempt sailed over the bar.
On the other end, PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma remained alert, making two key saves against Magnus Aklius and Takumi Minamino, as the first half ended in a 0-0 draw.
Kuhn continued his impressive performance in the second half, making key stops against Dembele, Achraf Hakimi, and Desiree Doué, and denying a clear chance from Goncalo Ramos in the final moments.
Monaco grew more aggressive in the second half, with Ilyes Ben Seghir, Jordan Tizie, and Minamino testing Donnarumma, while a shot from Vanderson hit the post in the 55th minute.
PSG kept up the pressure, thanks to substitutes introduced by coach Luis Enrique. Goncalo Ramos had a golden opportunity in the 90th minute, but Kuhn made another vital save.
In the dying moments, substitute Fabian Ruiz made a run down the left wing and delivered a cross to Ousmane Dembele, who calmly scored the winning goal, sealing PSG’s 1-0 victory.
