Real Madrid’s French striker Karim Benzema was crowned today, Thursday, the European Player of the Year award for the last season 2021-2022.

Benzema surpassed his colleague, Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper, and Kevin De Bruyne, the Manchester City playmaker.

Benzema rediscovered himself last season, as he led his Real Madrid team to crown the Spanish League and Champions League titles.

Benzema with Real also won the Spanish Super Cup last season, and wrote his name in golden letters, as he won the title of top scorer in La Liga with 27 goals, as well as the top scorer in the Champions League with 15 goals.

In general, Benzema scored 44 goals and provided 15 assists during the 46 games he played with Real Madrid in various competitions during the last season.

France had a share of Benzema’s successes last season, and at the international level, he won the European Nations League title with his country.

Benzema also played an important role in the qualification of the French national team to the World Cup finals in Qatar this year, so that the roosters would have an opportunity to defend their world title.

Benzema hopes to win the World Cup, after he missed the last World Cup, due to his exclusion by coach Deschamps.

The French star aspires to continue his brilliance in the stadiums during the current season, which is witnessing many challenges for him other than the World Cup.
