Following their 3-0 win over Toulouse on Friday in the French League, Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique responded with cryptic remarks regarding the future of key players Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
When asked about reports claiming that Achraf Hakimi had renewed his contract with PSG until the summer of 2029, Luis Enrique replied, “Until the club makes an official announcement, I have no comment on the matter.”
Regarding Gianluigi Donnarumma’s absence from the match against Toulouse, the Spanish coach clarified that the goalkeeper’s omission was purely for tactical reasons.
When questioned about the possibility of Matvey Safonov becoming PSG’s first-choice goalkeeper over Gianluigi Donnarumma, Luis Enrique gave a cryptic response, saying in French, “Maybe yes… maybe no.”
Safonov, who was signed by PSG from Krasnodar at the start of the season, has made limited appearances so far, while Donnarumma has remained the club’s primary goalkeeper for the third consecutive season since joining from Milan in 2021.
Enrique also praised Milan Skriniar, noting, “He may not be playing as much this season, but he trains with great seriousness and professionalism.” Despite being close to leaving PSG earlier this year, Skriniar’s potential transfer faltered due to his high wages, and he has stayed with the club for now.
