Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has criticized the way the English media treated Ivorian Nicolas Pepe, Arsenal winger.
Pepe was strongly attacked by the English media, due to the decline in his level with Arsenal, compared to the value of his transfer to the Gunners 3 seasons ago, which amounted to 72 million pounds.
Pepe left Arsenal this summer on loan, and joined Nice until the end of the season.
“Pepe had some bad games and everyone was saying: ‘He still has to adapt,'” Fernandez said in comments reported by the British newspaper Express.
On the renewal of his contract with Manchester United, he explained, “I told them, I feel good at the club, it is a dream come true to be here, I want to bring stability to myself and my family, but I want to be competitive, I want to win trophies, to play against Better”.
“I said, I understand that, but I will stay here for five years, and if we are in four of them, or three of them, fighting for titles and against the best teams, and in a team that wants that competition, and with the manager who comes and makes his mark, I agree with that.”.
