Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick shared encouraging news with Blaugrana supporters, revealing progress in the recovery of one of the team’s injured players.
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick confirmed that defender Ronald Araujo will not travel to Seville for Saturday’s La Liga clash against Real Betis in the 16th round. Flick stated, “Araujo isn’t going to be available for tomorrow’s match. He might be ready to play against Borussia Dortmund next Wednesday in the Champions League, but our main goal is for him to be fully fit for the Leganes match.”
Flick added, “It’s not easy to include him in every game because the team is performing well. I’m very happy with the squad’s progress. In today’s training session, we focused on preparations for tomorrow’s match.”
Ronald Araujo has been sidelined since July 7 due to a right hamstring injury that required surgery, keeping him out of action since last summer.
Upon his return, Araujo will need to quickly earn Flick’s trust, particularly as Pau Coparsi and Inigo Martinez have solidified their roles in Barcelona’s defence during his absence.
