The Spanish Football Federation’s Disciplinary Committee has confirmed the penalty for Hansi Flick, the German coach of Barcelona.
Flick was sent off during Barcelona’s La Liga encounter with Real Betis after leaving the technical area and shouting while waving in protest at one of the referee’s decisions.
As reported by the Spanish newspaper Sport, the Disciplinary Committee has officially imposed a two-match suspension on Flick following his expulsion in last Saturday’s game against Real Betis.
The committee chose not to consider the objections raised by FC Barcelona regarding the report filed by referee Muñoz Ruiz.
As a result, Flick will be absent from the bench for Barcelona’s upcoming La Liga matches against Leganés and Atlético de Madrid, set for December 15 and 21 at the Lluís Companys stadium.
The committee dismissed FC Barcelona’s objections, including video evidence, believing it did not conclusively show that the incident unfolded differently from what was described in Muñoz Ruiz’s report. Additionally, the committee factored in that Flick continued to protest even after receiving the red card.
