Former Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur defender Anton Walks, 25, has died in a boat crash in South Florida.
Wax was reportedly found unconscious after the wreck of two boats and received first aid at the scene, but the player later died.
“We are heartbroken at the loss of Anton Wax. He embodied what it means to be a part of Charlotte Football Club and our entire community mourns this tragedy,” the American club Charlotte, for which the English footballer has played since 2022, said in a statement.
Wax began his career at Tottenham Hotspur’s academy. He later played for Atlanta United and Portsmouth.
