Super Cup to Return to Saudi Arabia in Multi-Team Format
The Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia is officially set to return next season, as confirmed by Luigi De Siervo, CEO of the Italian League. The next edition will once again adopt the four-team format, featuring both league and Coppa Italia finalists.
After three consecutive editions held in Saudi Arabia, the Italian League has opted to continue the partnership. The 2022 edition saw Inter Milan triumph over city rivals AC Milan 3-0 in a one-off match. In contrast, the 2023 and 2024 editions shifted to a mini-tournament format, including four teams.
Inter Milan captured the 2023 crown with a narrow 1-0 victory over Napoli. AC Milan claimed the 2024 edition with a 3-2 win over Inter in an intense final.
De Siervo Confirms Saudi Host Venue
In a virtual meeting involving all 20 Serie A clubs, De Siervo confirmed that Saudi Arabia has shown strong interest in hosting the next Italian Super Cup in Saudi Arabia. The four-team format will be retained, offering more matches and greater global exposure.
Qualified Teams for the Upcoming Edition
Two clubs have already confirmed their spots: Milan and Bologna, both finalists in this season’s Coppa Italia. Napoli and Inter are on the brink of qualification based on their league standings, with Napoli leading the table on 74 points and Inter trailing closely with 71.
