Andretti driver Jake Dennis won the first round of the new Formula E season at the Rodriguez Brothers Circuit in Mexico City.
For Dennis, this is the fourth victory in the electric series, and now he is in the top 10 in the history of the championship in terms of the number of races won.
Ex-champion Lucas di Grassi started from pole position, who is playing for Mahindra this year, but on lap 12, the Brazilian made a mistake on braking and missed Dennis. Closer to the finish line, Porsche’s Pascal Wehrlein broke into second place, and di Grassi ended up finishing in third, holding back a whole group of drivers including Andre Lotterer, Jake Hughes, and Sebastien Buemi.
We add that the arrival in Mexico City was interrupted three times by the safety car. Already at the start of the race, Robin Frians made contact with an opponent and crashed into a bump stop, then at the restart due to technical problems, Sam Bird stopped on the side of the road, and in the middle of the race, Edoardo Mortara made a mistake, flying into the barriers.
