Lewandowski rejects Saudi offer to stay at Barcelona
A Spanish report has revealed that Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski turned down a massive Saudi league proposal during the summer transfer window. While the Polish forward refused to leave this time, he hasnโt completely closed the door on a future move.
Saudi clubs show strong interest
According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Lewandowski received an extraordinary contract offer worth โฌ100 million per year, including incentives and bonuses. The aim was to lure him away from Barcelona and bring him to Saudi Arabia.
Despite the staggering figure, the striker rejected the approach and instructed his agent to put negotiations on hold, insisting he wanted to remain at Barcelona this season.
Future remains open
The report added that Lewandowski could still reconsider the Saudi offer in the future. A source from the Saudi Public Investment Fund confirmed their strong interest in signing the veteran striker, noting he was among the top targets.
โLewandowski was on the list of players the committee wanted for the Saudi league,โ the source said.
Big names join Saudi clubs
The same source confirmed that Al Hilal and Al Nassr were both eager to secure Lewandowskiโs services. Ultimately, Al Hilal signed Darwin Nรบรฑez from Liverpool, while Al Nassr brought in Joรฃo Fรฉlix from Chelsea.
For now, Lewandowski rejects Saudi offer and remains committed to Barcelona, but speculation around his next move is unlikely to fade anytime soon.
