Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski described his reception upon his return to Munich to face his former club Bayern in the Champions League as “respectful”.
Lewandowski, 34, told Bild newspaper on Friday that he was grateful to the fans for the way they welcomed him.
“It was a great and important respectful welcome for me. I’ve been in Munich for 8 years, not two or three. You can’t forget that” he explained.
After a little controversy, Lewandowski moved from Bayern to Barcelona before the start of the current season.
Lewandowski returned to Munich last Wednesday with his new team for the first time, but he left the Allianz Arena losing (0-2).
