Lewandowski wins Ballon d’Or award

Polish striker Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona won the Gerd Muller Award during the Ballon d’Or gala, which was held on Monday evening in the French capital, Paris.

The Gerd Muller Award is a prize recently introduced by the French magazine France Football, and crowns the best scorer at the level of clubs and teams.

The award was named after the legend of Germany and Bayern Munich, and one of the most famous scorers in the history of football.

Lewandowski won the Gerd Muller Award, after scoring 57 goals last season, with his former club Bayern Munich, and his country’s national team, Poland.

It is noteworthy that Lewandowski is the Golden Boot for the best scorer in the European leagues, during the last two seasons.

Lewandowski spent 8 years with Bayern Munich, during which he achieved many individual and collective achievements, before deciding to move to Barcelona last summer.
