Croatian coach Ivan Ljubicic has confirmed that Swiss tennis legend Roger Federer has chosen to end his career with his friend Rafael Nadal.

Roger Federer, the winner of 20 Grand Slam titles, announced last Thursday that he would retire from tennis after the Laver Cup.

“The end is painful. He chose the Laver Cup to be his last tournament as a professional player,” Ljubicic said in exclusive statements to Kooora
, on Tuesday evening.

Federer’s coach continued, “I contacted Roger and he told me that his body does not qualify him to play singles matches, and he will play Nadal next Friday in the doubles competitions, and it will be the last match of his career.”

“Federer’s choice to partner with Nadal in his last match indicates the close relationship between the players, they have advanced the game of tennis in an indescribable way,” Ljubicic concluded.
