Manchester City CEO Ferran Soriano has decided the fate of midfielder Bernardo Silva, who is wanted by Barcelona coach Xavi Hernandez.
Barcelona hopes to include Bernardo Silva, who refused earlier this August to rule out his departure from Manchester City, saying that Manchester City “knows what I want”.
Silva may appear at the “Camp Nou” stadium tomorrow, Wednesday, in the scheduled friendly match between Barcelona and City to raise funds to combat motor neuron disease, but Soriano confirmed that the Portuguese midfielder will not leave to join Barcelona.
“Of course, I can say that Bernardo Silva will remain in Manchester City, ” Soriano told the ” El Chiringuito de Gogones ” program. Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola also confirmed, on more than one occasion, his desire for the player to stay.
Silva played 50 games with Manchester City in all competitions last season, a number that only Joao Cancelo (52 games) surpassed. Silva, 28, scored 13 goals for the team and made 7 others.
