The match of the third round of the FA Cup, in which Manchester City hosted Chelsea, has ended. The teams played at the Etihad Stadium (City of Manchester) in Manchester (England).
The match was officiated by a team of referees headed by Robert John. Manchester City won 4-0.
In the 23rd minute, Manchester City striker Riyad Mahrez opened the score with a direct free kick. The Algerian sent the ball into the top nine of Arrizabalaga’s goal, breaking over the wall. In the 30th minute, striker Julian Alvarez converted a penalty awarded for hitting the ball into the hand of Kai Havertz in the Chelsea penalty area. Eight minutes later, striker Phil Foden scored. He was assisted by Kyle Walker. In the 85th minute, Mahrez scored a double, converting a penalty.
In the 1/16 finals of the FA Cup, Manchester City will play with the winner of the pair Oxford United – Arsenal. They will meet tomorrow, January 9th. The match starts at 20:00 GMT. Matches of the next round of the tournament will be held from 27 to 30 January.
