Manchester United beat Barcelona in the second leg of the 1/16 finals of the Europa League – 2:1. The meeting took place at the Old Trafford stadium in Manchester.
In the 18th minute of the meeting, Catalan striker Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring by converting a penalty. His goal was the only one in the first half. Immediately after the break, Brazilian midfielder Fred equalized the score, and in the 73rd minute, his compatriot Antoni scored the winning goal.
In the first match, the teams did not reveal the winner – 2:2, so the English club advanced to the next stage. Manchester United’s opponent in the 1/8 finals will be determined after the draw, which will take place on February 24 at the House of European Football in Nyon.
