Argentine legend Lionel Messi, former Barcelona star and current Inter Miami player, aspires to see the Catalan club regain its prominent position in the world of football.
Messi expressed his hopes for Barcelona’s future, saying: “I hope the club returns to what it has always been—a global benchmark, constantly competing for titles at the end of each season.”
In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, he added: “As a Barcelona player, settling for second place or falling short of victory is never acceptable. The members and fans always expect the highest standards. Being the best club in the world comes with immense demands.”
Messi expressed his aspirations for Barcelona’s success, stating: “I want to see Barcelona achieve the historic treble again—the Spanish League, the Cup, and the Champions League. And in the years we can’t accomplish that, we must at least remain competitive until the very end.”
He also shared a heartfelt message to the club’s fans: “I miss you all greatly and hope to reunite with you soon. I want you to feel proud of being part of the best club in the world.”
