Real Madrid defender Éder Militão has spoken out for the first time since suffering a torn ACL during Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Osasuna in La Liga, effectively ending his season.
In a message on his Instagram, Militão expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you all for the messages, support, and care. This is just another battle to win.”
He added, “I already know the way back. Giving up is not part of my story.”
Militão was visibly emotional as he left the pitch during Real Madrid’s match against Osasuna, clutching his knee in pain.
The club later issued an official statement confirming the severity of his injury: “Following tests conducted by Real Madrid’s medical team, Éder Militão has been diagnosed with a complete tear of the anterior cruciate ligament, along with damage to the menisci in his right knee.”
The statement added, “Militão will undergo surgery in the coming days.”
As a result, Militão is confirmed to be out for the remainder of the season. It’s worth noting that he had only just returned from a similar knee injury at the start of this season, which had sidelined him for much of the previous campaign.
