Liverpool’s victory saw them increase their tally to 56 points, 9 ahead of Arsenal, who will face Manchester City in a key match on Sunday. Meanwhile, Bournemouth remains in seventh place with 40 points.
The game could have started differently for the hosts. Bournemouth almost opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Semenyo beat Konate and Alexander-Arnold, but his shot hit the woodwork.
In the 30th minute, Liverpool were awarded a penalty after Cody Gakpo was fouled. Salah stepped up and confidently converted to put his side 1-0 up.
Bournemouth’s Missed Chances
Bournemouth thought they had equalized in the 38th minute when Brooks followed up on a cross to score, but the goal was disallowed for offside following a VAR review.
The visitors were not out of danger yet, with Bournemouth creating more chances in the second half. Christie’s pass to Semenyo in the 50th minute was expertly saved by Alisson, denying them a potential equalizer. Then, in the 70th minute, Travenier fired a powerful shot from outside the box, which hit the post. Kluivert followed up but shockingly missed an open goal, sending his shot into the stands.

Liverpool added a second goal in the 75th minute when Salah received a pass from Curtis Jones and finished with a superb left-foot shot into the far corner of the net.
In stoppage time, Bournemouth had one final chance, but Semenyo’s shot was blocked by Alisson after a poor clearance from Liverpool’s defense, sealing the 2-0 victory.
