The Moroccan national team proved to be stronger than the Spanish national team in the 1/8 final match of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The meeting was held at the stadium “Education City” with 44,667 fans in the stands. The main and additional halves did not reveal the winner, and in the penalty shoot-out the Moroccans turned out to be more successful.
Thus, the wards of Walid Regraga extended their unbeaten run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar to four matches. Previously, they beat the teams of Canada (2:1) and Belgium (2:0) and also tied with the Croatian team (0:0).
It is noteworthy that the Moroccans at the same time for the first time in history reached the 1/4 finals of the World Cup. Up to this point, the most successful for them was the 1986 World Cup, when they managed to get to the 1/8 final stage.
