Napoli beat Rangers

Date:

Napoli continued its impressive start in the first group of the European Champions League, after its precious 3-0 victory over its Scottish host Rangers, Glasgow, today, Wednesday, in the second round of the group.

Napoli was alone at the top of the group standings with 6 points, 3 points ahead of its closest rivals, Liverpool, which is ahead of direct confrontations over Ajax Amsterdam, the Dutch third-placed equal with him in the same balance, while Rangers remained at the bottom of the standings without a balance of points.

The match was scheduled for Tuesday at the same time as the Liverpool and Ajax meeting, which ended with the English team winning 2-1, but the European Football Association (UEFA) decided to postpone it for 24 hours for organizational reasons.

The goals of the match came during the second half, which saw Rangers play the match with ten men after American player James Sands was sent off in the 55th minute for receiving a second warning.

Matteo Politano opened the scoring for Napoli in the 68th minute with a penalty kick, compensating for the penalty kick missed by his Polish colleague Piotr Zelensky in the 60th minute, before Giacomo Raspadori added the second goal in the 85th minute.

Tanguy Ndombeli scored the third goal for the Italian team in the first minute of stoppage time for the second half.

This victory comes to give Napoli a good momentum before its expected match with Milan, next Sunday, in the Italian League.
