Napoli ended their recent run of dropped points in Serie A with a 3-1 victory away at Udinese in the 16th round of the Italian league, after initially trailing by one goal.
The hosts finished the first half with a 1-0 lead, thanks to Frenchman Florent Thauvin’s goal in the 23rd minute. Thauvin had followed up his own penalty kick, which Napoli goalkeeper Alex Meret had saved.
However, Napoli responded strongly in the second half, beginning with an equalizer from Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku in the 50th minute, setting the stage for a turnaround.
Napoli completed their comeback in the 76th minute when Argentine defender Lautaro Giannetti accidentally scored an own goal, putting the visitors ahead. Just five minutes later, Napoli sealed the victory with a third goal from Cameroonian international Andre-Frank Anguissa.
This win allowed Napoli to bounce back after their disappointing home defeat to Lazio in the previous round. With 35 points, they remain in second place, just two points behind leaders Atalanta.
On the other hand, Udinese suffered its third loss in the last five matches and its eighth of the season. With 20 points, it is in ninth place.
