Napoli temporarily moved to the top of the Italian League standings after defeating hosts Fiorentina 3-0 on Saturday in the 19th round of the competition.
The visitors took the lead in the 29th minute with a goal from Brazilian David Neres.
In the second half, Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku extended Napoli’s lead with a penalty in the 54th minute. Scottish midfielder Scott McTominay then completed the hat-trick for Napoli in the 68th minute.
With this victory, Napoli secured their fourth consecutive win and their 14th of the season, bringing their total to 44 points from 19 matches, placing them at the top of the table.
Atalanta follows closely in second place with 41 points from 18 matches, while defending champions Inter Milan are third with 40 points from 17 matches.
Fiorentina, on the other hand, continued to struggle, suffering three defeats and one draw in their last four rounds, leaving them with 32 points in sixth place.
