The match of the 17th round of the English Premier League, in which Leicester hosted Newcastle United, has ended.
The meeting took place at the King Power Stadium in Leicester. The final whistle of the chief referee Jarred Gillett recorded the victory of the guests.
The Magpies managed to score two goals already by the seventh minute of the match: Christopher Wood converted a penalty in the third minute, and four minutes later Bruno Guimarães assisted forward Miguel Almiron, who doubled the advantage of the guests. Even before the break, Eddie Howe’s team brought the score to devastating – a goal on the account of Joelinton, an assist was issued by defender Kieran Trippier.
This result allowed the Magpies to score 33 points and climb to second place in the Premier League standings, beating Manchester City (32). At the same time, Josep Guardiola’s team has two matches in hand. The Foxes have 17 points left, the team is in 13th position.
