The revamped playoff structure would significantly affect both the AFC and NFC. In the NFC, the 10-7 Rams would have traveled to Philadelphia to face the 14-3 Eagles, while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would have had to visit Minnesota instead of hosting the Commanders. Other NFL Rule Proposals for 2025

- Green Bay’s effort to ban the quarterback sneak tactic (tush push).
- Detroit’s proposal to remove automatic first downs granted for defensive holding or illegal contact penalties.
- A proposal to align overtime rules between the regular season and playoffs to ensure both teams get an opportunity to possess the ball in overtime.
These proposals will be discussed and potentially voted on at the NFL Annual League Meeting starting March 30 in Palm Beach, Florida.
