According to Opta, this crushing defeat is Brighton’s heaviest loss since their 9-0 defeat to Middlesbrough in the 1958-1959 season. Nottingham Forest became just the second team in Premier League history to lose by five or more goals and then win their next match by the same margin or greater, following Sheffield Wednesday’s 5-0 win over Bolton in 1997.
