The 21-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic has announced his withdrawal from the US Open.
“Unfortunately, I won’t be able to travel to New York this year to compete at the US Open. Thank you for your messages of love and support. Good luck to my fellow players! I’ll keep fit and positive as I look forward to returning to competitions. See you soon tennis world!” Djokovic wrote on social media.
Recall that the reason for the refusal of the Serbian tennis player to perform in New York was the inability to enter the United States: the country’s rules prohibit foreign citizens who are not vaccinated against coronavirus from crossing the border.
