The Moroccan Football Association announced the termination of his contract with Bosnian coach Vahid Halilhodzic, after 3 years spent by the latter at the helm of the technical leadership of the Lions team.
The Moroccan Federation justified its decision by making it difficult for the two parties to continue their relationship, given the existence of differences and great differences in views.
He also thanked the Football Association, Waheed, for what he provided to the Moroccan national team throughout his supervision, especially qualifying for the World Cup “Qatar 2022”.
The Moroccan Federation, headed by Faouzi Lekjaa, promised to create all the ideal conditions for the new coach to succeed in his mission.
Walid Regragui, the former coach of Wydad, is considered the closest candidate to coach the Atlas Lions team and lead it in the World Cup.
Halilhodzic had led Morocco to the World Cup finals, while the lions were eliminated from the African Cup of Nations “Cameroon 2021” from the quarter-finals by his Egyptian brother.
